So, Elena's Caption Contest is finally up and running. She changed the format so there is no viewer voting, so I figured I would go ahead and post my stuff. But don't let that keep you from going to her blog and checking out the work of a few other really good captioners.

Caption Contest Results

First, thank you all for participating in this contest of mine. Jenny and I had fun making these captions and are glad you enjoyed them,
Second, I want to thank Jenny for giving me the kick in the pants needed to make a few new captions and get my spark back. Hopefully I can find some pore fun pix to caption. Also, if anyone else wants to have a fun caption contest, send me an email or IM or something and I would be glad to participate. Please, everybody, be sure to check out her Tumblr page to see more of her work.

Now, without further ado, here are the results

At this point I would do a rundown of who won each pic; but, somehow, DOLLY SWEPT THE BOARD!

I wonder how much of this was a result of my home field advantage, but I REALLY thought Jenny did a FANTASTIC job and I even voted for 2 of her captions myself. I really don't think anyone is interested in percentage results, but if someone is interested, just post a comment and I can stash them in there.

I am going to leave the caption contest page up so visitors can check out the little contest and see a few of Jenny's wonderful caps. Also, there is a link to a page where I store all of my captions for easy finding over in the right column of this blog.

I was happy to have a fun conversation with a fellow captioner these past few days and became inspired. I have been a fan of quite a few of Elana Starz captions and stories and was inspired by her recent Re-Education 101 series, so I worked with her and put my own spin on things a bit. Happy Belated Valentine's Day

So, it has been a while since I posted a new caption, and I came up with the idea for this one a while ago to do for Valentines Day. I actually planned the plot a while ago but could not get it finished before V-Day, so it is purely coincidence that the timing and the plot are related. While I like the plot and idea of the caption, the composition came out a bit wonky; but I hope you enjoy it anyways.

I was in the mood for some captioning today and have wanted to come with a good idea using the lower pic.  I think this came out pretty well.
Also, with regards to the vote-a-caption, while I had success the first time I did it, I was a little disappointed by the results the second time.  It may come around again sometime, but it won't likely be any time soon.  Thanks for the support and I look forward to reading your comments.

I apologize if this is not very good.  It felt a little rushed and not as polished as my last ones, but I was a little disappointed that nobody helped with any comments.  I wanted to do at least one more set of polls, but I didn't get the feedback I had hoped for.

So, I would really appreciate any feedback on the whole vote-a-caption idea for the future. (i.e. did you like the idea? what could I do differently next time? should there even be another vote-a-caption? etc)
